MK Capital invests in emerging companies that fall into five categories: digital media, application software, data center automation, technology enabled business services, and education technology. Our digital media companies generate unique content, provide differentiated infrastructure, or deliver value added services. Our application software companies provide applications to enhance business efficiency and typically leverage a recurring revenue business model. Our technology enabled business services companies benefit from either superior economies of scale or proprietary expertise in the delivery of business services and, historically, over half of our investments have been in service-based businesses, most of which have a recurring revenue business model.

Overall, MK Capital looks for companies with outstanding customer satisfaction and prefers companies with a recurring revenue stream. While we have a strong track record of investing in development stage companies that have not deployed their technology or service in the marketplace, we prefer companies with reference-able , revenue-generating customers. MK Capital will typically provide a company with its first round of institutional capital, but also works with more mature businesses seeking growth capital. Since MK Capital has a national investing focus, we embrace opportunities in geographies other venture capital firms might be unwilling to consider. Historically, our deals have been located one-third in the East, one-third in the Midwest, and one-third in the West.
